How do we customize our JOON program? Is the platform limited to a specific group of vendors?

a. No, JOON is not limited to a specific group of vendors. JOON can work with every vendor within each of our benefit categories. This means employees can use their benefit dollars anywhere within your customized program.
b. Not sure where to start? Give us your annual budget and we’ll recommend a program. We can always do a complimentary workshop and customize it together!

Why do I need to link my credit or debit card?

JOON uses your bank transactions to automatically validate your wellness purchases. We never share your transactions with anyone but we securely store and log your approved transactions for tax purposes.

What does JOON do with the rest of my transaction history?

They are encrypted, anonymized and deleted after 60 days.

How do employees receive reimbursements?

Employees link a bank account or debit card and JOON deposits their funds there every month they are elegible for a reimbursement

Does JOON store any of my banking information?

Nope, and we don't need to. JOON manages all banking information through industry leading third party services, Plaid and Stripe. We do not keep any financial information on our servers. We use Plaid to verify accounts and validate transactions and Stripe to initiate transfers.

What are the tax implications of JOON?

Some of our clients categorize the JOON benefit as taxable income while others do not. JOON’s reporting can be organized by taxability based on IRS tax classifications, so employees and employers can be compliant. Your accountant will be the best person to consult here since rules vary by location, company, and employee. We’re happy to put you in touch with our tax consultants for additional support.

What do I do if a wellness purchase doesn’t automatically get validated?

If you believe a purchase should have fallen under one of the approved categories, you can report it straight from your JOON dashboard.

What do I do if I bought a product or service that should be validated but wasn’t at an approved merchant?

Report the transaction from your dashboard and upload a receipt so we can validate the specific purchase within the transaction.
